DeepMap AI Inc. ("DeepMap AI," "we," "us," or "our") operates the DeepMap AI platform, website (www.deepmapai.com), REST API, and mobile applications (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our Services.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information -- email address and name when you create an API account or mobile app account.
- Payment information -- processed by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers.
- Support requests -- any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us.
Information collected automatically:
- Location data -- latitude and longitude coordinates submitted with API queries or collected via mobile app location permissions (only when you grant access). Used solely to return geohazard risk scores for that location.
- Usage data -- API endpoints called, request timestamps, response times, and tier/quota usage for billing and rate limiting.
- Device information -- device type, operating system, and app version (mobile apps only).
- Push notification tokens -- if you opt in to alerts (via Expo Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging).
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Services.
- Process API queries and return geohazard, weather, and risk data.
- Manage your account, authenticate requests, and enforce rate limits.
- Send push notifications for earthquake, volcano, tsunami, and wildfire alerts (if opted in).
- Bill for API usage via Stripe metered billing.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect health, biometric, or personal sensor data.
- We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
- We do not use personal information for advertising or ad targeting.
- We do not track users across third-party websites or apps.
4. Data Sharing
We share information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers -- Stripe (payments), Railway (hosting), Vercel (CDN), Expo (push notifications), Firebase (Android push delivery). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual obligations.
- Legal requirements -- if required by law, subpoena, or court order.
- Business transfers -- in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
5. Data Retention
- API usage logs are retained for 90 days for billing and debugging.
- Account information is retained while your account is active.
- Prediction ledger entries (anonymized, no personal data) are retained indefinitely for scientific validation.
- You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
6. Data Security
We protect your data using:
- SHA-256 hashed API keys (we never store plaintext keys).
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
- Rate limiting and abuse detection.
- Access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Opt out of push notifications at any time via app settings or device settings.
- Revoke location permissions at any time via device settings.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
8. Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. International Users
DeepMap AI is based in the United States. If you access our Services from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer.

All permissions are optional. The apps function with reduced features if permissions are denied.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the effective date at the top and, where possible, by in-app notification.
